Dairy porcelain is a daily necessity for people. When purchasing daily-use ceramics, consumers should avoid "three-no" products and always buy from official sales channels with complete packaging and labeling. Especially when buying tableware, opt for plain white, undecorated pieces.
Tips for selecting daily-use porcelain are as follows:
(1) Decide on the purchase level based on your financial capacity, then select your preferred patterns and varieties from the appearance. From the chosen shapes and patterns, inspect each piece inside and out for surface damage, smoothness, spots, or bubbles.
(2) Place the porcelain product on your palm and gently tap it several times with your fingers or a small object. If the sound is crisp, it indicates good quality; if the sound is dull or hoarse, it suggests damage or incomplete firing, indicating a low-quality product.
(3) Check if the shape is regular by placing the ceramic product on a flat surface to ensure it remains stable with minimal deformation.
(4) Check whether the decorative patterns are aesthetically pleasing and harmonious. When selecting porcelain with gold or silver decorations, also wipe it with your hand to see if the colors fade or the gold wears off.
(5) When purchasing a set of ceramic products, check whether the glaze color, patterns, luster, and style of each piece are consistent, balanced, and harmonious. Thin-walled ceramic products should appear translucent under sunlight or artificial light, being both thin and lightweight with uniform thickness.
(6) Generally speaking, the parts of daily-use ceramic products such as cups, bowls, and teapots that come into contact with food and beverages are pattern-free. For plates and dishes, the areas where food is placed have decorative patterns. To be cautious, it is advisable to choose products with minimal patterns and clean edges, or plain white blanks without any designs. Avoid using fully patterned Canton or soft-paste porcelain plates and dishes, as they are decorative items and should not be used for serving food.
